Faith-Ann Young

About Me

Editor of RCRD LBL, Faith-Ann is also a professional photographer and journalist. She has contributed to publications such Monocle Magazine, Blender, MOG, The Economist's More Intelligent Life Magazine, Dazed and Confused's Dazed Digital.

Her first stint in music writing began with 70 to 100 word blurbs about illusive underground rock and folk bands for NY-based Flavorpill after college. Since then, her wanderlust/musiclust has led her to dodge incoming nose-bleeding crowd surfers in the photo pit at Sydney’s Big Day Out, watch Bjork’s pyrotechnics at the base of Mount Fuji at Fuji Rock (and then climbing it at sunrise), and introduce Perry Farrell to Lou Reed for the first time (and watch them discuss who the hell Caroline is/was/continues to be). When she's not shooting or scribbling on moleskin, she's making a mess in her studio- of a sort of frenetic mixed media art that's a mix between Fafi's graffiti, Japanese sumi ink painting, and Gauguin in Tahiti (on a good day). While some worry about her ADD and her parents and friends have considered buying her a leash for her birthday, she mostly worries about sleep deprivation and that majority of the good die young.
