From ColdWarKids.com - "Maybe you’ve heard about 826LA. It’s an incredible educational nonprofit that helps Los Angeles-area students ages 6-18 with everything from reading skills to college prep. They also help students of all ages publish books, make movies, and, once a year, write songs to be recorded and performed by an L.A. band.
This year, we’re recording one of the student-written songs. It’s called Mamacita and it was written by 12 year old, Edgar and 11 year old, Jennifer . We love it.
To help keep 826LA alive for another year, so they can help students in Los Angeles with their homework and writing projects and create awesome songs like Mamacita, please go online and VOTE for our song with a tax-deductible donation. A bunch of other students wrote songs that are pretty good, and you might like them too, so you can vote for them, but vote for ours the most.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the season for 826LA and it starts right now. They’re an incredible organization, we’re doing this for free to help them, so if you like us, like the song, and want to help the kids of Los Angeles, please VOTE all the time and as much as you can. Thank you.

Ozomatli's brand new single, "It's Only Paper," is currently featured on AOL Music's Spinner.com. With an upcoming album entitled 'Fire Away' due for an April 2010 release, the song gives us a taste of the bands flavor, transmitting a "socially-conscious message with a dance-heavy sonic mosaic of hip-hop, funk and Latin grooves." Photographer, filmmaker, visionist Cognito showcases rare performance and behind-the-scenes images captured during the two year journey of making and supporting the June 2009 release of The Ecstatic (iTunes) This special one-week exhibition features candid photographs of Mos Def, including images from visits to the Cape of Great Hope, South Africa, performing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and a powerful series of US Summer Tour “end-of-the-night posse shots” featuring such artists as Jay Electronica, Talib Kweli, Erykah Badu, and even a surprise guest appearance by the legendary Shuggie Otis.
