We don't usually wax much on the photos that go along with our tracks, but can we just pause for a minute to marvel at the above? Could there be a more perfect and apt promo shot? Do I even have to tell you that Children are a ridiculously thrilling thrash metal band who use atomic mushroom clouds as their aesthetic constant? Probably not, but it's worth reiterating. Further proof can be found in the relentless deep shred of "Power Spirit," which, truth be told, sounds like something pulled from Megadeth's Rust In Peace if Dave Mustaine had been eating rocks while recording that record. Children's debut full-length, Hard Times Hanging At The End Of The World, hits May 12th through Kemado. Now go air guitar your ass off.

Sounds like: Megadeth, High On Fire, Ladyhawk (not really they're just bros)

VIDEO: The Bronx - Young Bloods

This video for The Bronx's new single "Young Bloods" is basically a combination of the following cinematic elements: any James Bond title sequence from the past ten years, the part in SLC Punk where Stevo and Trish drop acid in the park, and the fight scenes from Nacho Libre. All justifably awesome in their own right, but combined here for greater effect. This song is great, you can download it below, and now you can go buy the record it came out on (The Bronx III) because it came out yesterday. Get on it.

Grimmy thrash pop experimentation is going off in basement bars in Denmark in rebellion from the dreamy, ambient sounds of neighboring islanders Jose Gonzalez and Sigur Ros. Death By Kite is a prime example. If the song name "Himmelfahrtskommando" doesn't explain exactly how the band feels, their Myspace sums it up: "We are dancing on knives here.” "Bhf. Asta," has scrambling punk 'tude, while the teething snare and delay-drenched guitar intro in "Himmelfahrtskommando" solidifies the band's Interpol/Joy Division comparisons.

Oh- and for your Danish German vocab lesson of the day: "Himmelfahrtskommando" means "suicide command." (We had bets going it meant really beastly drop-dead smelling thing. Good to know we weren't incredibly off.)
