EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Black Kids Vs. Mates of State - DJA of Mad Decent Mash-Up

The San Fran duo Mates of State are gearing up to co-headline a tour with Florida's The Black Kids this April. In its honor, DJA of Mad Decent (real name: Derek Allen) crafted a mash-up of the two groups that we are proud to debut. He's layered Casio synths around Mates of States' husband-wife harmonies and electric organs, added french touch and house break beats and Black Kids' high-energy claps and cheers. It's doses of cheeky, sunny pop distilled into a seductive, danceable potion.
Oh and for you Mates of States fans, they are releasing a 12-inch on April 7th called Re-Arrange Us, with remixes from Flosstradamus, The Mae Shi, RAC, and DJ Sega. It's the first of a series of Mates remix EPs.

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Inner Party System - Don't Stop (Eclectic Method Remix)

It’s as rare as real Kobe beef for today’s artists to even attempt to, let alone succeed at redefining pop culture and art as we know it. Most of the time, our jaded selves just yawn and mutter “Dude- Just like Amy Winehouse's demise, we’ve seen this all before.”
But Eclectic Method continues to astound and succeed at the near impossible. The audio-visual DJ VJ wunderkinds mash up words, videos, rhymes and rhythms so artfully that half the time you sit like a dunce pondering where the hell you heard/saw/felt that before and half the time you just let yourself submerge in their audio/visual mixed media bubble bath.
Cha-Ching! This time round, Eclectic Method has teamed up with the similarly socially conscious artists, Inner Party System, crafting a bad-ass, party grinder remix of “Don’t Stop.” We expect your first reaction will be to dance the hell out of this track. On second listen, pay attention to Inner Party System's tactful mockery of our TMZ, celeb-addicted society. “Feed the rich; Fuck the Poor.” Oh and yes, that's President Bush's voice towards the end of the track.
Let the social guerrilla warfare begin. Need you ask which side we are on?
(Psst, if you dig it, Inner Party System's new album is out on iTunes today)

Maybe it’s because we just spent a week in Chicago for Lollapalooza. Maybe it’s because we were impressed by the ruckus The Hood Internet caused onstage and in after parties- playing to their home crowd. Or maybe it’s some subliminal message that The Hood Internet inserted within the verses. Regardless, we've haven't been able to stop spinning this track and others from "The Hood Internet Vs. Chicago" recently.
A while back we featured earlier a few tracks from the CD in which duo basically ripped up and sewed together verses and beats from formidable Chi-town artists. This time we are featuring a track forecasting a buddy of ours, Hollywood Holt, who is not only sweet as gold, but hones in a sick amount of energy each time he puts his lips to a microphone. Check it.

Remaining loyal to their Chicago roots, these two mixologist are applying their magic touch to the hottest, most bad-ass Chicago artists out there (from Kid Sister to The Cool Kids to Walter Meego)- and melding and mashing to absolute sonic perfection. The result, a mixtape called "The Hood Internet Vs. Chicago is like sipping a delectable musical daquiris filled to the rim with juicy chunks of infectious, dance-inducing beats. Perfect slurp for summer. To be relished in the sun.
Actually, their pairings are so bad-ass you almost wish the artists had thought of the collaborations themselves. Like Wilco and Kayne. Imagine those dudes in the recording room together. Hard to picture? Rest on that thought and feast on the 3 tracks below.
