It's quite fitting that Brooklyn's own Italo disco ass-shakers, In Flagranti, were tapped to remix the latest from Golden Bug. Both parties yearn for the days of Giorgio Moroder and Cerrone, but neither is content to merely emulate their forefathers. When In Flagranti is done with "LookLookLook" it's become a dizzying piece of rave-inspired disco bursting forth with fizzy synth riffs, gregarious bass lines and disjointed radio announcer samples. Ready to keep dancers on their toes? Drop this hot remix and tell them RCRD LBL gave it to you.

Breaking away from the 12" model on which it's built its name, Death From Abroad (DFA Records' internationalist arm) has released its first compilation, Death From Abroad Presents Supersoul Recordings - Nobody Knows Anything. Rather than merely collect random tunes here and there, this double CD collects the entire Supersoul discography and adds exclusive cuts to it. Home to talents such as Skatebård, Walter Jones, Strangelets, Plastique De Rêve, Mogg and label owner Xaver Naudascher, Supersoul traffics in vintage-sounding Italo/electro/disco/house music with a 21st century edge. So while the synths and drum machines have dusty, historic roots, the fervernt energy they're played with shakes away the cobwebs and lights a fire under dancers' assets. The tune we have for you comes from head honcho, Naudascher, whose "Lost" revs like a motorcycle careening wildly over the surface of the moon, with just enough gravity left to stomp your feet on the dance floor.

DOWNLOAD: Daniel Wang - Berlin Sunrise

The glittering disco revival which has really been pumping over the last few years owes a lot to California native and current Berlin resident, Daniel Wang. While attending school in New York City and Chicago, Wang seemed to learn the most while cutting loose in the cities clubs. In 1993 he launched the label Balihu for his own deep-house/disco fusion tunes, and in the late 90's joined forces with (and quite possibly influenced) Morgan Geist's Environ label -- the future home of the vaunted Metro Area. Wang's sleek and sheik productions sound as if they've been rescued from a dusty bin of Italo disco and acid house records, but remixed with subtle hints of futurism. So dancers shaking it to the loping grooves of his Ghostly debut, "Berlin Sunrise," may struggle to determine if they're listening to the past or the present. The "Die Dämmerung" (dawn) mix is an easy favorite, with vividly colorful synth arpeggios peaking over the horizon, a fat low end wiggling not far behind. This is the tune you'll want to hear while dancing at daybreak.

Hey man, you look like you're dragging ass. Have a bump of this new Diskokaine single on Gomma I've got here. It's called "Riminini" and it's sure to get your heart racing in no time. This bouncy tune is the work of Wolfram "marfloW" Eckert, an Austrian ex-model whose Diskokaine label stoked the flames of an Italo disco resurgence with Sally Shapiro's breakthrough debut, Disco Romance.
But for "Riminini," marfloW has temporarily shelved his Italo love for a more hyperactive sounds. Ushered in by a Fischerspooner-esque bass line and flecked by scrappy synth stabs, "Riminini" is a raving explosion of melody and pitched-up vocal samples sure to give you a sugar high. Whether scoring your next neon-themed party or yet another boring work day, Diskokaine's latest simply dares listeners to stand still.

DOWNLOAD: Little Boots - Stuck on Repeat

So “Stuck on Repeat” starts out like your typical electro-disco banger—semi heavy synth line, shuffling beats and a little dash of arpeggio. At a very limited first impression, and aside from the most awesome use of a sleigh bell in probably forever, it all seems pretty safe. Pretty safe that is, until the vocals come in, and you realize that instead of a trendy little dance number what you are in fact listening to is Kylie Minogue and Ladytron having a pool party with Simian Mobile Disco before hitting a nightclub in Milan circa 1979. The weird thing about italo disco is that a lot of people who are riding the current revival forget how, well, cheesy a lot of that music was (not that we're knocking it, we mean where would we be today without Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy"?). Where "Stuck on Repeat" succeeds is that it really does take that style of ultra sleek, glossy production and updates it today's dance music standards. Oh, and can we talk about the way the beat drops around the 4:30 mark (the fact that, in this day and age, a song can wait until the 4:30 mark to drop the beat, is a testament to its brilliance)? It’s almost hard to believe that Little Boots is just one (strictly anonymous) woman from London and not a supergroup made up of Calvin Harris, Justice, SMD and Xenomania. We know what we will be jamming to all this summer in every club on the planet…
DOWNLOAD: Glass Candy - I Always Say Yes (Baron von Luxxury remix)

RCRD LBL’s resident danceaholic Baron von Luxxury has remixed another one of our favorite dance acts, Glass Candy, and the results are pretty awesome. Glass Candy are part of the whole Italo revival that’s taking over at the moment, and the remix Luxxury bashed out sounds like a more cohesive version of something Crystal Castles would put together. It’s called : “I Always Say Yes” and, like the good, tender souls we are, we’re giving it away for download below. Enjoy.

After being members of the explosion of Brooklyn bands in the early ‘00s (with bands like TV on the Radio and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs), art rockers SSION left for Kansas City a few years ago and never looked back, leaving their titles of “Next Big Things” kind of in the air. Fast-forward to 2007, the band have been at the forefront of a new scene in their adoptive hometown, are about to release their second album Fool’s Gold (their debut, Opportunity Bless My Soul, dropped in 2003) and have had their new single, “Clown” remixed by Italians Do It Better artists Glass Candy. The song’s original vibe, like most of SSION’s material, has a scuzzy, home-made, DIY quality to it, whereas the Glass Candy remix polishes up the ends and gives it that Italians shine. It’s minimal Italo, sounding like Hot Chip’s evil doppelgangers ripping a page from Giorgio Moroder’s handbook. Download it by clicking the link below.

Also, SSION are playing Ruff Club in NYC on February 1st. We’ll definitely be requesting the remix…
