DOWNLOAD: Casxio - Seventeen (The Glass Remix)
The original version of Casxio's "Seventeen" showed up in March, but Plant and The:Hours just released it all proper like with versions from the Glass and Skrillex, the former's sounding like it was submerged in liquefied leather and dried out on a subwoofer. Should the free MP3 stir your interest, it's available on wax over at Turntable Lab.

Birds & Batteries’ new EP Up To No Good came out this week and there’s been some talk about honky-tonk layering, Halloween freak boogie and lost in the woods funk. Also, cough syrup-induced dancing. Below, a little more throat coat with “Sneaky Times” and "Out In The Woods" until the full length anodyne drops in 2010.

DOWNLOAD: Beni - Maximus (Harvard Bass Remix)
The first thing you're going to notice about this Harvard Bass remix of Beni from the Kitsune comp is the synth riff, which sounds like a rubber duck being used as a fire alarm. That's cool and all, but we're really gassed on the snare rolls that are peppered throughout, because as any Mannie Fresh fan knows, snare rolls are friggin' exhilarating. Buy the full comp right here.
EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Rifle Recoil - Bad Girl

Rifle Recoil's bio leads us to think he waxes cosmic on the spaces between defining moments as the defining moments themselves. Kind of like in yoga class when Ursula says, “The divine in me is the divine in you,” and we pretend to get it. “Bad Girl” is a meditative electro-folk hymn—heavy on the organ, circular in lyrics, and narcotic in atmosphere. Something to lure us back from the edge, when we could easily jump or stay.
Sounds like: Prince, a wall of delay pedals
DOWNLOAD: Shazam - Hello Cat

Shazam usually has us envisioning inner tube floats with embarrassingly colorful drink choices, but for this, his contribution to a long-overdue Bang Gang 12-Inches compilation, the Perthian electro-disco producer is comfortably donning G-funk synths like they were terrycloth bath robes. The Bang Gang comp, with tracks from the boutique dance label's usual cronies (KIM, Gloves, Bag Raiders, Hey Today! et al), is out soon via Modular.

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Múm - Sing Along (FM Belfast Remix)
.jpg)
I was pretty weirded out by Múm last time around. There was just something about the radio edit of "Sing Along" that was unsettling, despite the cutesy facade. Well, whatever that weirdener was, it's gone now; Icelandic quartet FM Belfast turning the track into a fuzzy-gutted romp of awestruck vocals and buoyant synths, even if at times those synths still sound like a bag of knotted nerves. I'll neatly shimmy past the obvious "worried mothers" gag and instead point out that this time next week Múm will be starting their European tour, at Voxhall in Aarhus, Denmark.
Sounds Like: Friendly Fires, MGMT, Depeche Mode before they got into S&M

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Le Corps Mince de Françoise - Something Golden (Lenny Picko Remix)

The three Finnish ladies in Le Corps Mince de Françoise (guesstimately correctly translated by our commenters as "the thin body of Françoise") are putting out "Something Golden" as a new single through Kitsune, though this slo-mo electro-disco flip from Lenny Picko won't be on the release. What will be on there is a trio of versions from Renaissance Man, Oleo, and Heartbreak, all of it preceding a new album called Love & Nature that includes production from Switch. As if they didn't already have you at that photo.

EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Fischerspooner - Supply & Demand (AutoErotique Remix) + Cloak & Dagger Contest

In a bit of a surprising move, our partners at Dim Mak are putting out a new single from New York electro outrageists Fischerspooner. Titled "Supply & Demand" and out November 17th, it will, of course, come backed with a grip of remixes, notably this propulsive one from Toronto's AutoErotique. Fischerspooner will also be DJ'ing the third Cloak & Dagger party next Thursday, the 12th, alongside Junior Sanchez, Ninjasonik, Michna, and a ton of others. We're giving away two pairs of tickets to that, so if you can and want to go, email contests@rcrdlbl.com with the subject "CLOAK & DAGGER" and we'll select a winner at random. Flyer after the jump.

DOWNLOAD: Chelley - Check Up On It (Clean Edit)

He melted hearts and minds on the hook of Major Lazer's "Keep It Goin' Louder," but didn't you know that Ricky Blaze is also quite astute behind the boards? This new single from Chelley, which he produced, is our parting shot for the weekend, a bit of unrelenting club heat we will be psyched to have danced to when we wake up on the floor tomorrow morning.
EXCLUSIVE NEW DOWNLOAD: Amanda Blank - Shame On Me (Viking Remix)

The drip of "Shame On Me" remixes continues with a pass from Viking, who's been quietly killing the cushy electro-house thing from the unlikely perch of Richmond, Virginia. Download his version below, and if you happen to be in London this evening, catch Amanda Blank at Camden's Proud venue alongside We Have Band and the Passion Pit DJs.
