Bio: They are ready to take the great leap. Their name has been on everyone’s tip of the tongue for the last few months, but 2009 ... (more) will see their first releases and close a circle which they opened through amazing dj sets in 2008.

Oriol Riverola, more known as D.a.r.y.l. (dj resident at The Loft (Barcelona)) is the 50% de The Requesters. The other half is Alex Sidechains, also Dj and responsible of the irresistible collection "Sidechains: The Remixes". Admirers of John Miles to DJ Funk, and eternally influenced by Daft Punk, their overwhelming sessions at the decks are like a roller coaster ride sabotaged by a bunch of terrorists. Their set is infested by funk, big beat, heavy and disco, grinding samplers, shaking and batiendo France and Detroit, the 80’s and 90’s. As producers they have given form to titanic tunes which sublimate the words ‘hedonism’, ‘movement’ and ‘nightlife’.
The new edition of the Sonar Festival in Barcelona will receive them as one of the strongest dance acts to have come out of Spain in recent years. In July, we will see the release of their debut EP titled “Highlights”, name which they have also chosen for their own record label. After the summer, they will release their first full LP, which they are currently recording in their studio in Barcelona and will have special guests. The name The Requesters in the next few months will cross borders and will extend from one corner of the world to the other. Via MODA the EP will be available worldwide except for in Japan where Rambling Records will release both the forthcoming EP and LP later in the year. (less)
