Bio: A short while back, Ingeborg Selnes released her debut album, 'The Zoo', on the relatively new label Bolibompa. She's been helped out by some of the guys in the oslo-indie-underground, Nomber 5s and Hiawatha!. On Saturday Aug.9 they'll perform together at the Øya Festival.
Selnes has a strong link to the new indie scene here in Norway and is currently based in Oslo. Among her inspirational sources we find everything from Jens Lekman and Rockettothesky to Billie Holiday and Burt Bacharach. She was originally a part of the hardcore scene back in her hometown, Bodø, but left in order to focus on more melody-based material. 'The Zoo' made a jump onto Norwegian album charts after its release, and if you're not familiar with the strong material on it, we recommend that you pay the Vika stage a visit during the last day of the festival, Saturday Aug. 9.
