As young teens in Orange County, New York, G. Grhymey, Matter Ov Fact, Blezzed, B Cliff & E.P. began to create songs depicting their wild lifestyle with immature lyrics, lackluster musical backdrops and fictional tales of over-the-top situational comedy. The music may not have been impressive, but it gave the youngsters a chance to hone their skills. As the years passed, their talents developed progressively. The sloppy creations recorded on tapes were now completed songs recorded in protools with concepts and impeccable lyricism. E.P. advanced his production skills and began to provide cinematic sounds capes for the group to unleash upon. The set of five dropped "Mark Our Words" in the summer of 2006 and was well received. Boom bap production mixed with sincere, humor-filled lyrics quickly made a dent in the underground Hip Hop community. Brian Kayser of HipHopGame.com found the group to be a unique blend that set their own trend and named them "Demo of The Month". Thankfully, they caught the attention of multi platinum producer Darrell "Digga" Branch who immediately realized he had the opportunity to develop his own diamond in the rough. Signing the group in late 2007, Digga put the group into overdrive, providing beats and taking care of the "behind the scenes" work. A year after "Mark Our Words", Fab Nickel dropped "The No Budget LP" with national distribution on Digga's Six Figga Entertainment. Satisfied with their work to date, the Nickel has no plans to rest on their laurels. They're constantly working on new material and gearing up for their next release "How To R.O.B. (Rhyme Over Beats)" which is sure to garner critical acclaim. Conceptually, the album is going to thoroughly impress the listeners. Lyrically, it will compete with the greats. Production-wise it will keep all music lovers head nodding. The future is bright for Fab Nickel. They are leaders who stress the notion of being independent and staying true to themselves. Never ones to get caught up in the media, hype, streets, etc., Fab Nickel has maintained their integrity, pride and self worth as they prepare themselves to make an impact in an industry full of fraudulence, unoriginality and carbon copies.
