Bio:
Elika’s debut album ‘Trying Got Us Nowhere’ was recorded,
mixed, and produced by Jason Martin of Starflyer 59.
Elika mix powerful & melodic female vocals with textured ... (more) guitars;
field recordings; and crisp drum programming to create
incredibly visual songs with the atmosphere of childhood and
layers of detail. Influences include Slowdive, Karen Carpenter,
Boards of Canada, Nico, and Squarepusher.
Having toured the UK, USA, Peru & Canada, Elika has been well
received across continents and cultures. Last Fall, they opened
for Ulrich Schnauss at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC and followed
it with a victory lap with Film School at Mercury Lounge.
