Bio: At the end of 2008 Glasgow’s Colin Bailey awoke from a voodoo curse to find his heart had been torn from his body by a ... (more) Haitian warlord and replaced with a beating drum machine. He channelled his 808 fury into a debut EP that enabled him to burst out of Greco-Roman’s sonic wrestling ring amid a frenzy of hype and ravage the world of the mortals with his unique zombi swamp-rave for the next 12 months as DRUMS OF DEATH, touring with Hot Chip, Greco-Roman Soundsystem and Peaches. And a LOT of facepaint.  

Armed with a cracked sampler and a dented mic each night Colin would exorcise his demons in front of his audiences, literally bleed himself of his wretched curse. Each day he would awake unsure of what had happened the night before. But as the gigs continued, as the distances lengthened and as each night merged into the next, he noticed things start to happen: first it was the facepaint he couldn’t remove, that permanent black smudge around the collar of his white dinner shirt, the demonic black hollow deepening around his eyes. Then it was the scar on his chest throbbing during the power-cuts, the unexplained chain of events that took place in the black. Then it was the blood on the shirt, or was it lipstick… or both? And then the immeasurable fatigue; his march of the undead reaching back around the globe, explained only in part by a score of battered eardrums and bruised women. Colin Bailey had slowly become utterly consumed by his curse… now Colin Bailey reallyis DRUMS OF DEATH!   (less)
