While we're told their new album, Know Better Learn Faster, is a break-up record, San Franciscan indie trio Thao With The Get Down Stay Down don't do mopey. "When We Swam" paints the severance in beach metaphors and twisted doo-wop rhythms, while the title track is shuffling and agrarian, fiddle and slide guitar laced throughout.
