It's not hard to see why Little Boots is so popular. Every word she's sung to date has had that pop-naif touch to it, the timid timbre of her voice refreshing amid pop 2009's warrior women - the lightsabres and the volcanic rocks are misleading, these are songs for the slightly scared-looking, 15-year-old Saturday girls working on Boots counters across Britain every weekend. And isn't that who pop's always been for, really? Treasure Fingers does some damage here with a 4-4 disco stomp and dismissive handclaps, but "Earthquake"'s vulnerability ultimately remains intact. Charming.
