We consider Roy Davis Jr. something of a legend around here, so we tend to notice when things like a full album's worth of material come out from the man, even when it seems like no one else does. Last we heard, Scion was releasing one of his songs for a remix project with The Juan MacLean, Todd Edwards, and Fred Falke, and now the album that single originated on, God, Life, Music, is coming out on July 20th through Nice + Smooth. Thing is, it's not just all house music–there's an uptempo R&B cut that opens, a drippy downtempo one buried towards the end–but "Come On" is as classically Roy as it gets, glossed with lucid keys and a rich vocal from XL.
