DOWNLOAD: The Dø - Tammie

True story: before gaining employment here at the site, one of the best finds I had as a reader was Finnish/French duo The Dø, who Faith-Ann introduced in July. The duo meld clanging, pseudo-baroque textures with a blithely cracking soprano, hitting that sweet spot of blithe, summer laziness. Their LP, A Mouthful, has been simmering in Europe for over a year, though it will finally get a proper US release on July 14th. "Tammie" is the second half's standout, a tune that starts off campfire friendly but then breaks into an extended, dancing-on-picnic-tables rouser. Memorial Day BBQists take note, these two are your aural poison.

Got this from a French friend when it was first released and there is a great mix of styles on it- alas most gigs still on mainland Europe.
