More than once, Liechtenstein (the country) has been a wrong guess of ours on Jeopardy. Frustrating times a million. But whatever connotative grudge we were holding against the smallest German-speaking country in the world has pretty much evaporated at the hands of three Swedish females. Liechtenstein (the band) are the newest addition to the recently-revived and now consistently ass-kicking Slumberland label, a trio of women who play in the same jangle-pop sandbox as labelmates The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. "Roses In The Park"–from their debut LP Survival Strategies In The Modern World (out June 2nd)–is every bit the afternoon breezer its title suggests, a beguiling mash of gushing harmonies and crummy fuzz pedals. The band touches down in America next week for a run of shows along the East Coast. Dates after the break.

Sounds like: Golden Triangle, Dum Dum Girls, The Raincoats
