By now you've probably seen that Adidas ad with all those famous people at a house party, vibing out to an edit of Franki Valli & The Four Seasons' "Beggin'" from French deejay and producer Pilooski. It's a big nod for the lynch-pin of Paris' D-I-R-T-Y crew, as dude has been somewhat quietly giving Todd Terje a run for his money in the new blog-focused corner of the edit world and, under the name Discodeine, also been cooking up dirty electro-disco on the side with his bro Pentile. After a few rounds of original vinyl, they're upping their remix game with this work for Danish dance trio WhoMadeWho, a group who have a new album coming out on March 23rd called The Plot. Pressure cooker kicks are there throughout, laid under snippets of violin and palm-muted guitars. It sounds like Kelly Pollar without the drama and just might be the most accessible production in the Discodeine canon. All the more reason to get that sneaker money.
