Let us take a moment here to celebrate the fact that, in this case anyway, the word “remix” does not mean, “try and make song into ‘BANGER’”. Secretly Canadian artist Richard Swift has given the twice-over to Cold War Kids’ barking new single “Something Is Not Right With Me,” and the results are squelchy and weird and won't give you even the slightest headache after repeated listens. His “Onasis Remix” sounds like a band struggling to differentiate between the garage and the lounge, losing the original’s hurried pace and cueing up some shrilly VU guitars and cardboard bass. And while the title sounds like some museum you’d take your nephew to, the “Instruments Of Science And Technology Remix” is exactly that: a flurry of dubby effects and harmonic synthesizers that seem to come and go pretty quickly. These remixes both kind of sound like The Walkmen and White Williams trapped together in a soul vortex, so make sure to grab them below.
