VIDEO THRWBCK: The Saints - (I'm) Stranded
The Saints released this first single in September of 1976. This predated any released material from The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, AND The Damned. They were also from Brisbane, Austrailia, where they were virtually peerless as a punk band. In other words, the Saints were awesome and did it better and earlier than any other band you would normally associate with the genre's infancy, and this song is still one of the best teenage boredom anthems ever written. The video is kinda "meh" but is totally worth watching to see singer Chris Bailey do weird Elvis dances in an abandoned house and his band play with virtually no emotion. Also, dude kinda looks like Cameron Crowe, which is hella weird. Shout to bowl cuts!
