We have just heard the future of soul (nu-neo-soul, if you will) and it is Erik Rico. While having some clear '80s funk influences on "Forever", Erik manages to bridge the gap of genres and mix soothing Maxwell-esque vocals with a melody you would expect from the likes of Crystal Castles. Admittedly, that's one musical crisscross we'd never expect to hear, but considering that we've had this on blast for the better part of the morning, we are glad we did.
