MEGA DOWNLOAD: Soledad Brothers, Whirlwind Heat, Onalaska

Rejoice, we have yet another Mega Download post from our friends over at Dim Mak records. Dim Mak have been letting us have our way with their extensive back catalogue so we can bring you the best classic gems from all the bands they’ve signed over the years. Today we bring you tunes from experimental punk outfit Whirlwind Heat, soothing folk from Onalaska, and dirty, dirty Detroit Blues from the Soledad Brothers (live tracks from their live album entitled, um, Live). It’s hard to categorize Whirlwind Heat, so we’ll just say they sound like Devo, The B-52s, the Blood Brothers and UK Decay, only that’s probably not even remotely accurate. Onalaska are in the same vein as Felice Brothers, crafting subtle folk ‘n’ soul numbers on acoustic guitars. And Soledad Brothers, well… all we can say is lock up your daughters. They don’t make the blues like this anymore (right, Raconteurs?).
