Titus Andronicus are New Jersey's rock & roll band salvation.  No longer saddled with merely being the home of Bon Jovi, Springsteen or NJHXC's Social Decay, Titus Andronicus stand to become the Garden State's new Golden Boys.  After 2 7"s, an LP The Airing of Grievances, touring, banging away in basements and barrooms all over NYC and with a motto of "The enemy is everywhere," these five fellas are coming for you.  Combining Biblical references and questionably pretentious song titles ("Upon Viewing Brueghel's 'Landscape With The Fall of Icarus',") with one of the most perfect lead-ins to a group sung, double handclap chorus of "your life is over!" ("And they'll say/ No more cigarettes/ No more havin sex/ No more drinking til you fall on the floor" in "Titus Andronicus") these boys are not afraid of throwing all of the best earmarks of rock into the mixer and still emerging with a sound all their own.

Three guitars, choruses that dare you to not raise your beer in the air and sing along, dangerously cheeky vocals and full-on instrumental drop-outs are just the beginning.  A review of a show at Pace University said, "given the fact that I was tempted to rip the Styrofoam cup holding my beverage into small pieces to plug my ears, I don't think I was their number one fan," which is a perfect intro to whether or not you're quickly going to put Titus Andronicus among your favorite bands.  If hearing unabashedly enthusiastic rock music played with the intent of blowing your face off makes you want to rip up your cup instead of launching it still half full of beer into the air, this might not be the band for you.  But then again, why are you going to rock shows in the first place?

Sounds Like: Call Me Lightning, Two Gallants, The Thermals, No Age, Les Savy Fav, Lover!
