Film: Heavy Metal in Baghdad
War blows, and this war story is an eye-opener. From Friday, May 23rd Laemmle Theaters in LA are screening "Heavy Metal in Baghdad". This unique film chronicles the tale of a rock band called Acrassicauda (Latin for "black scorpion") who are notable because they're Iraq’s only heavy metal band and have escaped to Turkey so they can continue to follow their dream of making music. Don't miss this film.
If you recognize one of the directors, Suroosh Alvi, it's because he did an amazing job on his short film called "Down At The Gun Bazaar" shot (no pun intended) in Pakistan. That scary film was one of the amusing films from "The Vice Guide to Travel". Stay tuned here for a profile on Vice Films.
