Exclusive Download: Lymbyc Systym Love Your Abuser Remixed and Spring Tour

Two man bands are blowing up right now; The Dodos, Black Keys, and Gnarls Barkley are all kicking some serious ass and have upped the proverbial ante with amazing new releases over the past few months.  If you have been lucky enough to see any of these guys live, you know that what they lack in band members, they make up in energy and pure love for what they do.  It is with great pleasure that we introduce you to another duo to add to the short list.  Readers, meet Lymbyc Systym.

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, brothers Michael (drums and percussion) and Jared (keys) Bell have been making music together since they were kids.  In late 2001, after a short stint at NYU, Mike moved back to Phoenix, and Lymbyc Systym was born.  The music might be classified as indie-folk-electronic-postrock, but that wouldn’t really do it justice.  Combining vintage and analog keyboards, bells, and computer generated glitches and beeps, with live and electronic drums, percussions, and an assortment of samples, Lymbyc Systym create songs that are epic and massive, but never messy, and no matter how huge the wall of sound they build, the music maintains a distinctly delicate feel.

Following up their 2007 masterpiece, Love Your Abuser, Lymbyc Systym has just released a limited edition pressing of Love Your Abuser Remixed.  Say what you will about remix albums, but LYA Remixed isn’t just a bunch of dance or downtempo versions of existing songs.  Featuring remixes by the Album Leaf, Bibio, the One AM Radio, Daedelus, and This Will Destroy You, the artists on LYA Remixed do a phenomenal job of re-imagining the original versions to make them their own.

In celebration of the release of Love Your Abuser Remixed, Lymbyc Systym will be touring North America throughout April and May.  The tour kicks off April 19th in Phoenix and moves to LA on the 23rd at the Troubador w/ Her Space Holiday (with Mike and Jared playing in the HSH live band).  For the rest of the tour dates click here.
