One stereotype of SXSW is it is a lot of white guys playing a guitar. Um, at least until Shy Child comes to town. Shy Child breaks the stereotypical American band mold..... i.e. there's no guitar in sight- it's just drummer Nate Smith and singer/keytarist Pete Cafarella from Shy Child beasting out crazed, synth beats via keytar & drums. However, considering they opened for Bjork on Big Day Out in Australia and even rocked out a game of musical chairs at a Stella McCartney fashion show, I'd say they've found a method of success.

Their new album "Noise Won't Stop" is out May 5th in the US.
