FEATURED: Tiny Masters of Today

At first we were pretty nonplussed by Tiny Masters of Today, the band of 13- and 11-year-old Brooklyn siblings who write somewhat one-dimensional garage punk tunes. We were definitely frowned upon when we suggested that perhaps they should wait a while to release an album, but in this day and age, we suppose the earlier the better. Anyway, we didn’t pay much attention until we saw them live at a LVHRD event in Dumbo last month, and it all began to make sense. On record the songs seem kind of flat, but live you are faced with the coolest pre-teens ever, who play in a sort of mock blasé fashion that turns out to be really charming. The completely won us over with an encore cover of “Jump Around” by House of Pain (yes, that’s right. House of Pain.). CSS, who never disappoint, has remixed Tiny Masters’ recent single “Hey Mr. DJ” and the song got written up on the World’s Fair blog today.
